I sat my A-levels and the engineering admissions test (the ESAT) last year, and my GCSEs less than three years ago — not five or ten years ago. That timing matters more than people think: specifications get revised, exam boards shift emphasis, and the ESAT itself changes format. The best person to teach you through any of it is someone who's actually just been through it, not someone recalling what it was like a decade ago.
Since then I've gone deeper into GCSE, A-level and engineering admissions material than I ever needed to as a student — writing original practice papers, tracking exactly where marks are actually lost, and building up extensive experience tutoring students through all three. I know which topics genuinely trip people up at each stage, which "tips" floating around online are useless, and what separates a good result from a great one.
